How to open .pst archive

I am wondering how to open a .pst archive when Outlook says that access to
the file is denied. (I created the .pst archive myself on a machine on which
it appears that I do not have administrator rights.) Please respond to

Have you transferred the .pst file onto your hard drive and removed the
"Read Only" attribute?
