How to output custom properties in header?

R

Raj

I created a project version custom property (File | Properties, Custom, and
added the numerical Version property). How can I output this Version in a
header of the project?
Thanks!

Hi Raj,

In File --> Page Setup on the Header tab there is a list of "General" and
"Project" fields that can be added to a header or footer. Unfortunately,
custom properties such as you added are not a choice.

You could add your version number information to the "Keywords" on the
Summary tab of the File --> Properties dialog box. Then add that field
(listed under General) on the header tab in the Page Setup dialog box.

The other option is to use one of the spare Project Fields (Text, Number,
etc) and display that value.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

I'll use this as a workaround. But since this is a feature in Word and some
other Office applications, why not in Project?

Hi Raj,

If you double-click on the Project Summary Task - ID0 (ID = zero) - and
select the Notes tab, you can add your verion data there. Then in the
Header, select the Notes field.
