How To Overwrite Old Web?

G

Guest

Hi, All - I have taken-over someones else's corporate
web, and am ready to publish a totally new web. I have
no idea whether the existing web was created in FP, but I
want to overwrite it completely with my own FP 2003
files, and not leave any orphan folders or files.

What's the best way to accomplish a totally fresh site?

Thanks!

Open the existing site using FrontPage.
Delete everything you see except the _private folder.
Close the remote web
Open the local web and Publish

Either have the host delete and re-establish the site and the FP SE
Or
Open the online root site in FP
Delete all folders except images and _private (delete all content in them)
Delete all files in the root web (pages, etc)
- you should probably leave an empty (or text only "be back on line soon") home page
Run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks and close the online site
Open your local site in FP and use File Publish ALL
