how to print an A5 booklet on double sided A4 paper

I am having trouble sorting out the print options for this. Using a Canon
ip3000 with auto duplex. The print options dialog shows the correct
orientation of the A5 pages on an A4 sheet, but the print is A6 size rotated
90 degrees

using windows XP and Office XP
