How to purchase add'l license to install OfficeXPPro on 2nd deskto

Just purchased a full version of Office XP Pro. How do I go about
purchasing a license to install it on a second desktop computer? All
comments I've seen posted only mention EULA allowing instsall on 1 desktop
and possibly on 1 laptop (with stipulations of course), but haven't seen
anything on how to buy license to use same CDs to install on another desktop
legally. Seems senseless to keep buying new CDs to install same product on
different computers.

You have to follow the 'sensless' approach - doubtless some one will give a
reason. - unless perhaps your licence requirement is in the 100's

Your information is correct but the OP stated he has Office XP Pro. He will
have to buy another full version - and may have to look a bit to find anyone
who still has that version available. Office supply companies/electronic
equipment stores are going to have 2003.

Kinda why I mentioned Office 2003 STE as a retail option, possibly would have
been cheaper, but different than the version mentioned.

Read your end user license agreement for your "retail" version of Office.
It
will explain your rights of usage for that particular software.
Installations, etc...
Office 2003 Student/Teacher version allows for 3 installations.

I looked at the licensing info on the link Chris mentioned. Seems it is
geared toward "businesses" which have several computers; I'm just an ordinary
individual who bought Office XP 2002 Pro to make life easier by doing some
work at home during crunch times (employer paying for home license is not an
option). My EULA indicates "install and use one copy...on a single computer,
device,...a second copy ...on a portable Device". Guess I'm stuck buying
another copy. Anybody know if I'd have problems if my work files are Office
XP 2002 Professional and I buy and use Office Professional Edition 2003 at
home? I mostly work with Excel (90%) but also use Access, Word and Power
Point as well.

[email protected],
Using/modifying files between domains or networks if that is what you are
wanting to do could result in file corruption eventually between the 2
versions and domains/networks.
If you have a broadband connection between home and work with the same
Office versions you could use Small Business Server 2003's remote web work
place to work files while at home.
For Excel you could search/post here:
