I am trying to put a onenote note book on flash drive with out same

informatiom on the flash drive the same information shows in onenote on the
computer.

That is the cacheing "feature" and it cannot be turned off.

P.S. In any newsgroup when asking for help on any product, you should say
what version you are using.

Sorry, but to me it seems that for On 2007 this answer is a bit
misleading.

misleading or at least misunderstandable.
With the proper setup (one note files on the removable medium only)
it's not "the same information" on the computer.
Without changing the settings the cache would be on the computer.
But even this can be changed via Tools | Options (although it's not
recommended).

You are right. I wasn't feeling like being as wordy as I usually am. I
wanted to get something out there because it hadn't been answered yet and
figured Chris or you would fill in the blanks.

But the files ARE copied to the computer that opens the notebook
regardless of the version of ON. They are jsut copied to different
places. The original poster should search back for "cache" and they will
find many dixcussions on the topic without anyone needing to repeat
themselves.

I agree. This has been treated over and over again.
AFAICS we might a good article as reference.

Richard, which of these is true (if either):

1. You want to store the notebook on the flash drive so that it can travel
around with you.
2. You don't want any of your personal files showing up on the computer
because it is a public computer, or this is private info, or something along
these lines?
