How to receive again read mail after reinstalling outlook?

I've been using Outlook 2007 successfully to manage my gmail account, but now
that I've reinstalled windows and Office on my computer, outlook will only
receive the new mail and not the already read one.
All the old emails are still on the gmail server(I can see them through the
bowser) but they won't download to my computer.
How can I receive all the emails from my gmail account?

You have stopped at the Microsoft Access (a database software) newsgroup,
scroll a wee bit further down for the Outlook newsgroup.
