How to recover saved changes in MS Picture manager

I cropped a family photo to use a small portion for another purpose. I then
goofed and hit save when closing the program (thereby saving the new cropped
image and not the original as I intended).

Is there any way to recover the photo 'pre-changed' ?

I'm running XP pro

As far as i know, no way since that was your choice to save the crop.
Still there is a possibity for you finding it under the temp folders...
worth a try... thats all

Not unless you have another copy of the original backed up someplace.
When you overwrite the file, the "undo" becomes a forensic data recovery
exercise.
