how to remove all old Outlook items and start afresh

I have decided to move to MobileMe so that Outlook, iPhone & Me.com web sites
are in synch; they work wonderfully except that lots of old e-mail, contact,
calendar (of years) in my Outlook gives some problem or other; I have backed
them up; I just need to get rid of all the Outlook content & start (relevant
ones have moved to iPhone & MobileMe anyway)

What should I do?

Within outlook create a new data file, set it as default msg store, how you
do so depends on your OL version. Then close the old set of Personal Folders
Then new set will be empty of mail & contacts

Add a new PST to your profile - File, New, Outlook data file. Then set it as
default delivery location in tools, accounts, data files tab.
