how to remove drop down list

On an Excel sheet with many formulas I created a drop down list by mistake. I
want to delete it. I tried following the online help but the "Convert to
Range" option was not active for me.

Did you create it with Data/Validation?

If so, select the cell(s), choose Data/Validation and click Clear All.
