how to remove email headers from word doc?

Hi all,

We are both using the Standard Office 2003 MSWord programs, running XP Pro
SP2.

I received an email that still contains the email headers from the
originating program, and I can't find a way to get rid of them.

Is there a way to remove it from the document?

The cursor changes to the four point arrow when placed over the "grabber"
area, but it will not grab it so that I can drag it off and delete it. If I
were creating the document, I can bring that up and also delete it, but in
the document I received via email, I cannot.

Any help appreciated,

thanks,
niteowl

Does it "outline" the section when you click on it? If so, try pressing
the "Delete" key.

Bob,

no, it does not outline it.. the email toolbar ( I guess that's what it's
called, looks like the Address section in Outlook Express, i.e. To: Subject:
Cc: Bcc: etc.) will not let me drag it off so I can delete it. I can find
no menu item that even shows it as being there under View, only shows the
Formatting and Standard toolbars.

I tried opening a new document and looking for a way to "send as attachment"
option, but only found a place to put a check in the General tab under
Tools/Options. (Removing it with the document in question open had no
effect.)

I was hoping maybe to work my way backwards to find a way to get rid of it.
No joy!
In fact, now I can't even find a way to bring it up.

thanks,
niteowl

Sometimes in a Word doc items can be "nearly" unselectable. I've found
that fooling around a bit with "Select all" and other text arranging
efforts usually will get you to the point where you can pick out the
feature.

Hi

Most users seem not to understand the problem originally described.

I have attached a jpg to indicate the problem described. I have the
same problem and can not get rid of it. The document always opens with
that email interface activated. If hit send, I get "Unspecified error",
happens with or without recipient.

Here is the solution:
You get that dialog by pressing: File > Send To > Mail recipient
And surprize !!!
You remove the same dialog by pressing: File > Send To > Mail recipient

It took me forever and a some luck to find out.

Office SP2, XP SP3
