How to remove Excel 4 macros

Hello,

I run Office 2004 on my Mac. For some reason when I try to open some
files, I get the dialogue box asking me if I want to enable macros. I
have included no macros in the file.

I then went into VB editor and openened all object and this workbook
and everything is blank.

Something I noticed is that if I originally say to disable macros, I
get an error saying there are Excel version 4 macros which cant be
disabled. So, I take it these are the macros that are causing my
problem.

Does anyone know where or what these version 4 macros are? Is there
any way for me to remove them?

thanks,
Scott

Scott,

There may actually be no macros in the workbook. I have seen this problem
occur when a workbook, originally created in windows that had Active-x
controls was transferred to the Mac. There is some remaining file corruption
that causes this issue. Try saving each worksheet individually in some other
form such as SYLK. Then reassemble the individual worksheets back into the
workbook and save again.
