How-To remove HTML from EXCEL 97 File?

When I select and copy certain texts it keeps the HTML tags and causes
the spreesheet to be clickbale sending me to a website.

Is there a way to remove the HTML code WITHOUT removing the text?

I am using OFFICE 97
