Since "% Complete" refers to duration by definition, it is impossible to
unlink them. It explicitly indicates the portion of the total duration that
has been worked to date. [% Complete]=100 *
[ActualDuration]/[TotalDuration] and
[RemainingDuration]=[TotalDuration]-[Actual Duration], therefore Remaining
Duration will always be related to % Complete. Perhaps you are confusing %
Complete with % Work Complete or % Physical Complete - the three different
percentages represent three different concepts and measurements of progress.
When you say a task is 50% complete you need to be totally clear on just
what kind of progress you're looking at - time, effort, or output.
