how to remove old sort range

I performed a sort. now I am stuck with the original sort and can not change
to a different range. How to remove the original range?

Ok, I'll bite. As far as I know, with manual sorts, Excel always operates
on the current selection or an expansion of the current selection. I do not
believe Excel retains any memory of the last range sorted. Maybe you can
elaborate on exactly what you're seeing, say an example that we could
recreate.

had Lou's same problem, but I found how to fix this . If you have applied a
design to your spreadsheet as a table, when you are sorting Excel assumes the
range of the whole table. To remove that range you would have to click on
"Convert to Range" to eliminate the old one. After that you should be able to
use the Sort function using any range.
