Hi Alex,

You may want to look at the location of where these files are stored. Those in the
\Windows\Installer\ (or \WinNT\Installer) folder are likely tied to one or more of the products installed on your PC, including
Office and Office 2003 also keeps a set in the Local Installation Source (LIS) at C:\MSOCache (note that some of these folders are
marked as 'hidden' by default).

Removing connected Installation (MSI) and patch (MSP) files can 'break' the installation of those products the next time the MS
Installer is looking to repair or update the
product they go with and it's unable to locate a missing 'patch package' (.msp) file that the Windows registry says should be there.

Other products may store their installation files in the
\Documents and Settings\Application data\
areas of the PC, and ones stored in your 'download' area may be original products or updates.

Be sure that you have the original product CDs, any qualifying product CDs if the latest version installed is an 'upgrade' package,
and/or the original downloads of the product so you can fix or reinstall things as needed.

You may want to review first the listings in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel to see if there is anything there that
you are no longer using and uninstall it to free up some space as well.

For Office 2003 if you can complete a 'repair/reinstall' of Office 2003 through its listing in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows
control panel then it is intact.

Bob:

thank very much for your qick response. If i understood well, my solution
towards to buy another HD instead of trying to delete msp files. The issue
here is the msp files are using more capacity of HD than my own personal
files...that sound incredible for me....(i perfomed an unsed program cleaning
procedure before i wrote this letter) .

Well ...i have no words....but thank you again..
