How to repair lost colors in Office.

E

Enix

Recently I noticed that my Office applications, such as Word, Excell,
Outlook, etc...all have lost the Windows XP stylized look to thier menus and
clickable areas.

This goes so far as to take away most of the color on Outlooks calendar,
particularly where it shows your current time along the timebar. Right now
it's just a black thin line, there is no fade effect.

Searching around articles suggested that Office might be in Safe Mode, but
after finding nothing under Disabled Items, reinstalling more than once,
uninstalling and reinstalling more than once...I'm stumped.

How do I get the colors back?

I also want to add that I have changed the XP themes back and forth to no
avail. This effects every Office suite program under 2003 at least.

Have you checked your display settings to ensure you are using 32bit colors,
not something less?

Of course!

It's really odd in that this lack of color seems independant of any of my
visual settings. 16 or32 bit color, screen resolution, xp style (silver,
blue, old style), all the settings under 'Adjust my appearance for:' checked,
etc...

What's even more is that when I got frustrated by this and reinstalled
Office, it was still like this.

Then I would try updating your video drivers.

Hi Enix,

In the Windows Control Panel, open the Accessibility settings and see if the 'high contrast' choice has been activated.

Drivers and Accessibility are fine. Up to date and not being used,
respectively.

It's not effecting anything else but the Office Suite.

I've had the same trouble. I like having a black backgroudn. That worked
well for me in 2003. But now I can't see the time bar mentioned above.
