How to replace Outlook Express with Outlook

E

ed v

My ISP provider set up my e-mail account with Outlook
Express. I wanted the full-featured Outlook and was
told "they only support Outlook Express" and not Outlook.
I have found it impossible to switch after correctly as
per instructions setting up new account with Outlook
instead of Outlook Express. The changes do not take. I
can send e-mail from Outlook but all incoming e-mail
comes to Outlook Express. I could not find anything on
this subject in the Microsoft knowledge base or by using
Google. Can anyone help? Thanks.

First, you have to setup Outlook as your default mail reader. Open Internet
Explorer, press the "Tools" menu, then "Internet Options". Click the
"Programs" tab. Under "Email" select "Microsoft Outlook".

Press "Apply", then "OK". Now close the Internet Explorer and check if now
you can get emails in Outlook.
