How to request and install a code signing certificate for a fully trusted
InfoPath form template with managed code?
I have created an InfoPath form template and I use a test certificate for
testing purposes. The form template is about to be used in the production
environment and I want to create a trusted certificate for the form so users
won’t get the warning that the form isn’t signed with a trusted certificate….
I have installed an internal certificate server. When I choose Advanced
certificate request and then choose to Create and submit a request to this CA
I don’t get the option "Code Signing Certificate" as a type of certificate.
I’ve been told that this is the right kind of certificate for signing an
InfoPath form template with managed code.
Does anyone have an idea how I can create/request this kind of certificate?
I’ve also been informed that after retrieving the certificate I need to
install it into the personal store and to the trusted publishers store so I
will be able to choose the certificate when signing the form from within
InfoPath and that the clients who would be using the form would also need to
have the server's certificate installed to the Trusted Authorities store on
their computers and then when they attempt to load the form they should get a
prompt to trust the certificate. If they opt to do so then this should
install the certificate to their Trusted Publishers store.
I understand the logic behind it but I don’t have much experience in
installing certificates. How do I go about in accomplishing the above?
