How to right-align Captions

Hi experts

I want to add in Captions to lots of equations in my document. The Captions, conventionally, need to be on the same line as the equations and righ-aligned. And I will also need to cross-reference to these Captions somewhere else in my document

How can I do that in Word 2003

Thanks in advance.

You could use a right aligned tab at the right margin. Set the caption
alongside the equation rather than having the equation selected when you
insert the caption. You could use a two column borderless table if you
prefer which would keep caption and equation locked together. Bookmark the
caption and you can reproduce it anywhere with a REF field.

The table is the better choice if you're using Word's Caption feature. If
you use a tab, then cross-references will include the entire caption
paragraph (which includes the equation itself). A three-column table is best
if you want to center the equation. Make the (empty) left column the same
size as the right column containing the caption. If you want the caption to
be just a number without a label (such as Equation or Eq.), you'll need to
either create and bookmark it by hand or use MathType, which provides this
functionality automatically (see www.dessci.com for a free trial offer).
