how to send fax through PC

Hi
could I have your advice on how to set up fax on PC.
I have stand alone fax machine and fax modem installed on PC. what
need is instead of sending the faxes through machine I would prefe
sending through MS word. I use 56 K fax modem and land phone line.
I wouldn't like to use online fax services, while I have all th
hardware on desktop.
Any advice is very much appreciated.

Start by providing the fax software you are using or have available to you.
Continue by verifying that this is an analog fax modem that supports class 1
or 2 fax and that you are using a standard analog phone line, not ADSL.
