How to seperate a portion of a picture and save seperately

I'd suggest buying a graphics editor. Photoshop Elements is not
too expensive and neither is Printshop. There is also the Gimp
among freeware.

The free IrfanView will do this. Select the person, use the Edit | Crop
menu, then save the cropped image to a new file.
