How to set Duration from external dependencies?

I would like to track a task lets call it task 3 that has a Start/Start dependency on task 1 and a Finish/Finish dependence on Task two. In other works I would like the start of task 3 to be dependant on the start of task 1 and the finish of task 3 dependent on the finish of task two. Sounds simple right.

The problem I am having is that when I put in both dependencies the duration remains 1 day and it starts and finishes on the finish date for task 2.

I think the problem has to do with duration but I don’t know how to get Project to ignore/calculate duration from the dependencies.

Any help would be appreciated.
