How to set Outlook preferances to open Word attachments?

When I open a Word file attachment from my Outlook, it opens as 2 pages with
the font too large. I can close this of course by clicking a Close button and
re-open the same format by pressing a Read button. How do I get it just to
open in Print Layout?

In Word, click Tools>Options and on the General tab, examine the "Allow
starting in Reading Layout".checkbox. Is it checked?
