How to set the week to 6 days and not 5

Mark

Hi,

I am trying to create a task that lasts for 3 weeks, each week
consisting of 6 days. The task has 3 subtasks each during 1 week (of 6
days each). I am using MS Project 2007. This is what I did:

- Tools . Change Working time
- Select Work Weeks > Details
- Select Saturday and assign working time of 8am-12pm, 1pm-5pm

Then

- Enter the name of the main task
- I create the three subtasks, assign each 1 week,
- "increase indent" of the three subtaks
- Link the three subtask

The main task shows 15 days and not 18. Moreover, the finish dates
agree in that saturday is NOT being considered a working day. Changing
from "1 week" in task duration to "6 days" does not affect this. Dates
are still showing as the date is 5 days not 6 including saturday.

I have tried selecting the tasks, task information, and assign the
calendar that has been modified. Nothing can make Project change its
mind: it does not care that Saturday is now working day according to
the default calendar that has been modified. It insist in not counting
saturdays

Why?

thanks

Hi,

I can't imagine what slip you may have made, but this simply must work.
One thing: if you didn't change the definition of a week in Tools, Options,
Calendar, a "week" will still be 5 days so that is normal. But with 6 days
as duration it should work.
Send me the file jandemesATprom-ade.be I'll tell you what the glitch is.

That was the issue, I had to change the week from 40 hours to 48 hours
manually in Options (Project 2007)

Now every time I enter 1 week, Project understands 6 working days
