How to set up music in a Slideshow.

I have spent hours trying to figure out how to make a .PPS show with music
playing continuously and a set time delay between slides.
I went to different forums and of course would get the appropriate ambiguous
answers.
I finally figured out how it's done with the help of one of the MVP's. It's
really so simple you'll kick yourself when you see it.
Here's how... Insert all your pictures, and add all your titles etc you
want to make your slide show.
Click the first slide to open it up then click "SLIDESHOW" then "SLIDE
TRANSITION" on the toolbar.
In the slide transition window, Choose your type of Slide Transition and
it's speed.
Then Tick both boxes for "Mouse click", and "Automatically after" then set
your time in seconds for the slide delay.
In the sound field, click the arrow head to drop the menu and choose "NO
SOUND". Close this now and in the upper right, click the button "APPLY to
ALL"
Now back down at the bottom is the "LOOP" box. If your music file is not
long enough for your presentation, then tick it and it will play on.
Now for the music, Doing it this way it must be a .wav file. At least for
PP97 and 2003, as far as I know.
Back to the sound field again, click the arrow head, and in the drop down
menu choose "OTHER SOUND" down at the bottom.
After which you get to look for your music, wherever you keep it.
After selecting the music, you should hear it play right away, and the name
should appear in the box.
After closing the sound field, go back up to the upper right, and click the
button "APPLY".
You are now finished and you should see all the settings you made in their
appropriate places, including the name of your music file.
Close the Slide Transition window now, and click Slide Show on the Toolbar,
then View Show.
Your presentation should now start, with your music, transitions, and delays
between slides.
If you want the last slide to be manually controlled, ie/ So you can decide
when to stop the show. ( I saw a post asking for this )
You can set the last slide by going to VIEW then SLIDE SORTER. Right click
the last slide and choose SLIDE TRANSITION
In the slide transition window, untick the "Automatically after" box leaving
no number, then click the "APPLY" button up top.
Close the Slide Transition Window down again, and now when you play your
presentation, it will stop at the last slide allowing you to do the honours.
This is good if you have nice music playing and want to hear the ending.
I've read this over twice and it looks Ok so it should also work for you.
After you've done it a couple of times, you'll see how simple it is.
Good luck...
