When I reply to an email, if I save the reply or Outlook autosaves the reply
to the Drafts folder, the original email to which I'm replying is marked with
a label that reads "You replied on 3/21/2005 9:30 AM," where the date and
time are equal to the date and time the reply is saved to the Drafts folder.
If I choose not send the reply, or if I delete the unsent reply from the
Drafts folder, the above label still appears on the original, received email.
Additionally, when the above label appears due to saving or autosaving the
reply to the Drafts folder, the label does not update itself to the date and
time that the reply is actually sent. In other words, if I wrote a reply to
an email a week ago, saved it to my Drafts folder, and finally decided to
send it today, the email to which I replied would be appended with an
inaccurate label that states that I replied a week ago, rather than today.
Is there any way to set Outlook 2003 to label a message as replied-to only
after the reply has actually been sent, and not when the reply is saved to
the Drafts folder? Or is this an incurable bug in the program?
