how to setup a "test" resource?

When I wanted to test permissions/categories/secuirty in Project Server 2003
I would setup a resource with Project Server Authentication.

I just setup a single box with Project Server 2007 and I would like to have
some test resources on it. It appears my resource can have Windows
Authentication or Forms Authentication. How would I setup a test user (that
doesn't have a domain account)....with Forms Authentication? How would I do
this?

If this is a single box, then you could use local windows accounts (rather
than domain ones), and test the security by logging onto the server directly
(or terminal services). Not ideal, but much easier than setting up forms
auth and then adding the users etc.

Thanks Ben, this is a single box. I did what you suggest and it appears to be
working so far!

Agreed in an ideal world, but then the correct level of security is a
function of the risk verses the effort required to put the right security in
place. These are test accounts for checking the settings in ProjectServer,
so I suspect any risks are low level.
