how to show messenger online presence and link on web page

Check out this service: http://www.onlinestatus.org/ I haven't used them
myself so I don't know if they have any hidden fees, but they seem to be the
only one I could find for ms messenger. Of course, if you're using another
messenger type such as Yahoo there may be other, easier options as well.

www.onlinestatus.org has a script that'll show your status on virtually all
messenger systems.
If you use multiple messengers check out this:
http://qnext.com it's a free IM "client" that will connect you with MSN,
YIM, AIM, and ICQ simultaneously. It's pretty nice but not quite as good as
the MSN IM client, but then again it'll connect to all your messenger
accounts at the same time.
