Hi, I am working on Ms-Project Professional 2007. I want to show progress bar
on Summary tasks, but failed. My operation is:
From an opened project, I selected Format menu then "Bar Styles" then on the
"Progress" line, I pull down list from "Show for...tasks" column and select
"Normal, Summary, Project Summary, Rolled up".
Am I somewhere wrong? Could you please advise?

Thanks in advance,

Hi JJin,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

I don't have the pro version or a server. However, if you want to create a
new bar style, see how it is done in the Bar Styles dialog. Select the next
line under Summary and click Insert. In the blank row, give is a new name
like sum prog, Look at the Progress entry above and replicate the details.
I suggest a Shape to be the low one, colour red , and then Summary, Actual
Start and Complete Through. That should fix it.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
