How to SORT alphabetically

D

Deb

I have 15 pages in table format of two columns. I only
need to sort the first column. When I click on "table"
than "sort"... I have it set to "column 1", sort
by "text", than the word "paragraphs" is my only option.
When I try to type in A-Z or alphabetical I get an error
message saying "this entry is not valid for sorting".
Is "paragraphs" the only option for sorting in the first
column??

What do you want to sort by? If you sort by "Text," it will sort
alphabetically. The other options are "Number" and "Date," which are not
alphabetical. "Paragraphs" is the usual setting, though in certain instances
you can force Word to sort by, say, Word 2 in a column.
