How to start a PP in presenter view in vb ?

I can start the PP in speaker view with ...

PPT.ActivePresentation.SlideShowSettings.ShowType = ppShowTypeSpeaker

and the PP shows on the extended desktop secondary monitor but the
thumbnail slides and the controls do not show on the primary.

Why ?

but how to enable the presenter view in vb ?

There is no support for the Presenter view in the object model, so you
cannot natively code that view.

for some weird reason when i was debugging my code it actually came up
in presenter view ! twice ! but when i went back and tried to make it
do that it has never come up since. i suspect there is an undocumented
way to make it work and i accidentally stumbled upon it but i have no
idea how now.

anyway i have made my own presenter view screen from which i can now
control the slides, present them in any order, etc. i put the
thumbnails in image boxes from jpegs i export when the pp is loaded.

works pretty well and in addition to pp slides i can also show jpg's
and mpgs seamlessly and in any order.
