How to start PP

K

Ken

Hi,
I'm probably in the wrong place for this (newbie) queston but I can't seem
to find a "newuser" forum.
I have created a PP presentation but can't figure out how to have it begin
when one clicks on the file. I know I can use the F5 key but I'm sure there
is a better way. An ending would be nice as well instead of the blank, black
screen. Can someone with zero experience in PP do this?
Thanks, Ken

Ken,

I'll let you into a closely guarded secret......

rename the file from .ppt to .pps

or open the file in powerpoint

file menu > save as > give it a new name > change the filetype to "show"

Then the file will (should) automatically start in "show" mode without any
user intervention.

Thank you TAJ,
Hope you won't get into BIG trouble for divulging the secret. Will I have to
be eliminated now?
Seriously, thank you. I appreciate the help. Actually I was amazed I could
create a presentation with only the help of "HELP". (that sound you hear is
me patting myself on the back ;" )
Again thank you.

Thanks for the help. One other (actually 100 ;" )
thing. The first slide appears blank (awaiting the first click. Can I have
instructions appear on this page instead of just blank. Such as "Please
click to begin"
Thank you.

Please ignore this post. I thought I had deleted it. I figured it out as I
was typing the question.
Thanks

Nah :)

It's a quick trick that is not well documented - like the ability to link
pictures
