How to stop a large transmition that has already begun in Outlook?

I wanted to send two pictures to someone (total size = 870 KB). But at this
point my computer has been left on for 2 days and the e-mail has still not
sent. I am unable to stop or delete the e-mail as a window pops up saying,
"Can't open this item. Outlook has already begun transmitting this message".
It is slowing down my outlook and making it harder for me to send and recieve
other e-mails, yet I can't delete it.

Does anyone know how to remove the e-mail once transmition has begun?

What version of Outlook? Usually, creating a new .pst file and making it the
default will let you delete the large message. If you are using Outlook
2002/2003, you can also tell Outlook to work offline (file->work offline) and
you can try deleting it that way.
