How to stop Outlook from closing when I want minimize?

Version of Outlook? Error message? Something logged to the Event Viewer?
Made sure you didn't click on the X in the upper right corner? ;-)

My guess is that it doesn't close - you're using Outlook 2003 and you have
the "Hide When Minimized" option enabled. Click on the Outlook icon in the
notification area of the system tray and uncheck the Hide option.
