Will this stop my Outlook 2002 from showing the login screen again? I have
checked my settings and done a test message from the test account option and
it seems to be receiving fine. But the pop up window keeps asking me to
re-enter my user name and password. (Even if I ask it to save my user name
and password). It is very frustrating to try and check your e-mail when
every few minutes it is asking for you to verify the username and password.

Your can check remember settings all day long but if you clean you computer
cookies and such as I do you are still going to get this problem.
THAT"S why I am here too.
PLEASE Help Me STop This Continuing Sign in C##P. Please, Thank You

Exact problem:

I am running WIndows Vista which forced me to download the SP1 the other day
when I was turning my computer off. Now I am constantly being prompted to:
"Please verify that both the username and password are correct for your mail
server" it has two boxes below to fill out for the userename & password.
There is also a box to check that is to remembe my credentials. You the click
the Okay box & that should be that. HOWEVER if you clean the cookies and junk
off your computer or do not check your emails for a few hours you are back to
thsi agravating verifacation box again. I cannot seem to find the answer
through microsoft support.
Can ANYBODY PLEASE tell me how to stop this ptoblem???
Thank You

Dear Diane, I know that. I'm sorry if I was not clear. We are talking about
actions causing reactions. I also know that it my problem relates to the new
update from microsoft since it started the same day as the update was
installed. Thank you anyway for your reaponce.

Version of outlook? Type of email account?

The password is not stored in cookies so that should not affect it.

Did you try Detect and Repair (office diagnostics in 2007)? If that doesn't
fix it, then uninstall the updates.

This is the only thing that worked for me:
Internet Options
Click on Security
Click on clustom level
Then scroll all the way down to User Authentication
Check the option “automatic logon with current user name and passwordâ€
