how to successfully install kb873372 - office 2000 update

tried various ways to install this. all unsuccessful. with mcafee virusscan
enabled, update shut the antivirus program down. with antivirus program,
disabled, simply reported unsuccessful installation. tried a fullfile
installation. got error - could not find "xl8galry.xls". searched for file;
it exists. any suggestions?
