how to switch comma separator to dot in Excel 2004 ?

Hello,

Problem as in topic. I currently live in US, so as one can guess, I
need US data format it means:
10,000.00

Actually, somehow the format under my excel is european style:
10.000,00

How can I get rid of this, to change it to US style. I know in Win
Office 2003 this option was available under Tools -> Options ->
International etc. However, now even in newer Win version this
International tab is absent, and my mac excel 2004 also doesn't have
it!

I am using lovely G5 tower. This computer had before one German user. I
assume, somehow he changed this option before. Any way, when I log on
as Administrator and launch Excel everything is fine, it uses US
format.

However, when I go back to my account it uses again this European
format. How can I change it?

I checked my mac System Preferences -> International options and it is
on US format etc. I also use Polish keyboard input, however even
disabling it, it still does not work. I switched whole options to US,
and this does not work. I tried other English speaking countries
configuration, but all the time the problem stays the same.

How to deal with it? How to switch it to US format in Excel? I need it
:)

Thanks!
Kris

This option is set in the Operating System preferences, not Excel's
Preferences. Go to system Preferences, select International and set it the
way you want. Then Quit and restart Excel.

Can't you read? ;)
I wrote it, however instead of Operating System preferences I called it
System Prefereces. And no, it does not work(!). Even if I am normally
using US format, and everything is US, Excel still produce comma :(

Thanks,
Krystian

But you didn't mention if you restarted your machine once you changed the
settings...

Hello,

OK, here is a solution. Tricky thing(!). Before whenever I read it said
just change and restart Excel. The thing is, change to your choosen
Region and logout. Then log in again and should(!!!) work. In my case
it works.

And any way I think Macs are the best computers ever made, even if I am
relatively new user with geeky attitude :)

Regards and thank for any good will for help.

Cheers!
