Hi, I just recently read about RBS, and I 'm trying to use it but I'm not
quite sure what should be the expected behavior. I can use the RBS to
control which resources can see my project managers? They should see only
the resources in the lower levels of their branch? I tried that but It
didn't worked, I have a project that can see other resources that are not
below him in the org chart.

Am I misunderstanding the concept of RBS? Or I'm missing something?

Thanks

The RBS field works in conjunction with Categories in PWA, in particular,
the My Projects category which impacts project managers. To access
Categories, do the following:

1. Log in to PWA with Administrator permissions
2. Click the Admin menu
3. Click the Manage Security link
4. Select the My Projects category and click the Modify Category button

Examine your settings in the Projects and Resources sections, as these are
the specific settings that work in conjunction with the RBS field. In the
Projects section, you will want to select the "Only the projects indicated
below" option along with one, two, three, or four of the checkboxes below
the project list. In the Resources section, you will want to select the
"Only the resources specified below" option along with one, two, or three of
the checkboxes below the resource list. Which checkboxes you pick in each
section depends on your company's security needs for projects and resources.
Hope this helps.

To add to the good info from Dale, the easiest way to test is to create a
few Project Server accounts so that you can actually test the RBS
manager-subordinate relationships and see what modifying the different
category options does.

And remember, if you see the word MANAGE when modifying Categories, think
RBS.
