How to Transfer a Project between Project Managers?

How does one go about transferring a project from one PM to another?
For instance, if someone in our group is on vacation and wanst someone
else in the group to manage their project for the week, how is the
best way to do this?

We have tried by changing ownership, but any submitted tasks still go
to the original project owner. We would like the tasks for that week
to come to the temporary PM so they can approve them.

Changing the ownership is step one. To have the updates come to the new
owner, he/she will have to open the project in MsProject and change the
status manager for all tasks to him/herself. Then publish the project and all
updates will be on his/her list.
