How to turn autodial off when using thesaurus

I have checked and unchecked all the options I can think of, but every
single time I try to use the thesaurus (the only reference book checked),
Word dials the internet. I live in a country where telephone charges are
extremely expensive. How can turn MS dialing the internet off (I even have
'never dial my connection' checked in internet connection options)?

Visum:

Try disabling the NoDiscovery option. This can only be done with a registry
entry in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Common\Research\Options
with Nodiscovery = 1. It cannot be done via the Office user interface. See
the following. We had a similar issue and this fixed the problem
