How can I stop Word 2008 for Mac from "autocorrecting" three periods into an ellipse character. I know how turn off "smart" quotes. I know how to turn off two hyphens becoming an "em dash," but I've un-checked all the auto-correct boxes and ... still turns into an ellipse character.

Choose Tools/Autocorrect. In the Autocorrect pane, scroll down in
"Replace as you type" list to the three periods entry (it's near the
top). Select the entry and click Delete.

Note that this will remove the autocorrect entry for all other Office
apps as well.

THANK YOU! Having smart quotes and em-dash in "autoformat as you type" and elipsis in "replace text as you type" makes no sense - but I guess no one promised sense.
