How to Turn off Pink Boxes with City Place in My Signature

I dont know how i turned on the smart tag view but there are ugly pink boxes
with city, place, Personname etc thoughtout my signature

CTRL-SHIFT-X displays or hides the XML tags.

CTRL-SHIFT-X in what context? It's not working for me, it brings up a dialog
box about Fax services. Is there any way to turn it off in a menu or
something?
