how to uninstall vista revert back to windows xp

Was given windows vista with a new pc and decided not to install in on that
one, but installed it on my laptop instead. Now telling me not genuine copy.
How do I uninistall it, and revert back to my previous xp version. Driving
me barmy. Only allowed limited access to the intranet and not to my pc at
all.

You cannot revert back, unless you performed a dual boot installation. ie
retained your winxp installation.
If you didnt you would need to perform a clean installation of winxp, ie
delete partitions, create a new partition/format & install

Thanks for your response. How will I know if I performed a dual boot
installation. My old documents were all saved and my old pictures, but not
sure about my old programme file of xp...it is not allowing me access to my
computer to check, only giving me limited access to contact microsoft to
rectify problem.
