how to unprotect a shape

David Z

I have a visio file copied from another computer. When I try to edit the
file, the whole file is just like a graphic, nothing can be edited or
selected. I can add some shape, after that, if I select format-protection,
and then select all and click ok, the new added shape is not editable like
the original shapes. I tried go to format, the protection selection is grayed
up. I click show shapesheet. there is no protection parts available. I also
checked the layers. The lock setting is 0. Anything I can do to un-protect it?

There are many reasons why this might be, I think it best to have a look at the file, you
can either email it to me at

or ask this same question on the Visioguy forum at http://www.visguy.com/vgforum/ and
you'll be able to attach the file so we can have a look at it.
