How to upgrade from single to multiple users for Office '08

Hi, there! My husband and I bought a single-user MS Office for Mac some time ago. But it's not working, as every time I'm in one of the programs he can't open it.

Is it possible to upgrade our existing version to a multi-user version? Or do we need to buy an entirely new package?

Help! Please include links on where to go if you have the answer.

Thanks!

Hi Alison;

As you've found the single-user license entitles one user to install on one
'fixed' & one 'portable' system. Only one of those installations can be
active at a time. If the systems are on the same network & you attempt to
run any Office apps on one of those systems while any Office app is running
on the other you will be denied.

You can't really "upgrade" to a multi-user license unless you need more than
just "a few" :) You'll need to purchase an additional copy of Office 2008,
but if you don't use the software for commercial purposes or require
Exchange Support you can get the Home & Student Edition. It's the least
expensive option & includes 3 licenses (Product Keys).

You can get all the info you need from the Mactopia site:
