Hi Mark,

The MS Office Document Imaging Files (.MDI) is a MS page based
graphic format similar to a TIFF format. There isn't a viewer
available for .MDI files, but if someone has Office 2003 the
MS Office Document Image Writer Printer Driver installed they
can basically print to TIFF. This article has some additional
information and a sample process for creating the files.

The TIFF/FAX files can be viewed by graphics or fax viewers
by a good number of users who don't have MS Office.

I noticed that you posted at 04:00 hours. I found several of Microsoft's
own Office links were "unavailable" at that time this morning.
Don't know if they were / having trouble or not, but the URL did, in fact,
work when I posted it. [In other words, I tested it before I posted it.]

Well, the link works but there is not a viewer for *.mdi there. I don't want to install the Adobe Acrobat I bought, I want to send my customers MDI's but i can't do that if they can't read. WAKE UP Gates!!
