How unlock locked cells

I understand how to lock cells; however, I have changed a format and would
like for some of the cells that were locked to become unlocked when the sheet
is protected. How do I unlock these locked cells.

In 2003, you have to go to TOOLS and then PROTECTION to globally turn on or
off the capability, and then go the FORMAT CELLS and the PROTECTION tab to
deal with the settings of individual cells.

Thank you. That was helpful. It is if I leave it withouththe check in it
when they are unlocked and with the check in the box when they are locked.
