how view hidden data?

Geoff Cox

Hello,

I see that the use of MS's Remove Hidden Data tools 1.1 is not
necessarily a simple matter!

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/842684/

How do I view the hidden data?

It would be nice to see what is there before I try to remove it!

Plus, I see that in PPT 2003 the security settings allow you to remove
hidden data when saving - does this work correctly?

I suppose I could use VBA to simply open and save (a large number of
ppt files) and this would delete all the hidden data?

Cheers

Geoff

Hi,

Some of the so called hidden data is in the file properties. The other way
is to save it as a web page and look at the html. There are a lot of
comments like:

<o:Author>Glen Millar</o:Author>

<o:LastAuthor>Glen Millar</o:LastAuthor>

<o:Revision>1</o:Revision>

<o:TotalTime>0</o:TotalTime>

And all that type of stuff, from what I remember. Although that is just the
html version of what it rips out.
