Hi Lynn
I'm not quite sure what aspect of the upgrade you're
looking for information on.
Office 2003 retail can be installed on one portable/laptop
and one desktop for the same person, if it's an 'OEM' edition
it will install and activate only on one computer.
If it's an upgrade CD it will ask for the Office 97 CD
if Office 97 isn't already on the laptop, but basically
Office 2003 will replace Office 97 if it's preinstalled
unless you use the custom install choice during setup to
keep parts of Office 97.
You can open most files from a prior version successfully
in a newer version.

I have Office 97 Pro on Windows 98 on my desktop computer. I recently bought
a laptop with Microsoft XP. I need to put Office 2003 Pro on my laptop. How
well does Office 97 Pro update to Office 2003 Pro? >>
